Aggressive media and high temperatures no problem for Danfoss
Located just south of Buenos Aires at La Plata, Marva manufactures industrial machines for its own network of branded laundries in Argentina, and Latin America. Danfoss S.A. Sales Supervisor Jose Montagano met with Marva’s plant manager Omar Mattera in early 2008. Omar Mattera was interested in hearing more about Danfoss valves and Motor Control Gear products, in particular the DP 25 contactor.
The DP 25 starts and stops the motor and the electric water and air heaters in electric washing machines. The meeting proved to be the start of a successful partnership – to date, Danfoss has supplied Marva with over 1,700 DP 25 units with auxiliary contacts.
For the steam heated machines, which make up five percent of Marva’s production, Danfoss EV225B solenoid valves help control the steam used in the cleaning process. Designed specifically for steam applications, the long-lasting EV225B valve body is made from dezincification resistant brass and the valve seats are made from stainless steel, ensuring the valves are protected against erosion. And the PTFE diaphragm means that even contaminated steam is no problem for the EV225B.
At present, Marva is working on a project to develop a machine with speed control, using a Danfoss VLT® Micro Drive frequency converter. And to help take the partnership to the next level, Danfoss hopes to integrate a number of products from two different portfolios, specifically for Marva machines.
