IP66 VLT® drives operate flawlesly in Indian dairy

18 June 2009
The Indian dairy VRS Limited in Malanpur (Gwalior) uses hydrochloric acid, caustic and corrosive cleaning agents in its CIP cleaning of the equipment. IP66 enclosed VLT® drives mounted near the motors proved easy to install and operate.

"Danfoss offered an IP66 solution with overall low cost of installation and extremely good protection as far as the dairy industry is concerned" says Mr Nityanand Singh, deputy general manager.
He found the VLT® drives safe and easy to maintain. As the drives are mounted in the production area, the machine performance can be observed by the operator, which the customer perceives as an important benefit.

Easy trouble shooting
The VLT® drives offer easy trouble shooting because of fewer cables and because the operator is able to analyse the process parameters.

The dairy has 82 IP66 enclosed VLT® drives installed in the range from 1.5 kW to 75 KW . The rest of the drives are in IP54 enclosures.

Training
On each and every step of commission the customer was trained in trouble shooting and safe operation standards.
