Danfoss Gives Power to the Customer with Harmonic Calculator

26 January 2012
With the release of the Photovoltaic Plant Harmonic Calculator, Danfoss Solar Inverters provides a powerful software tool which will enable Installers to properly analyse harmonic distortion of their power plant setup.
New software tools enables Installers & Wholesalers to input their own values

With the release of the Photovoltaic Plant Harmonic Calculator, Danfoss Solar Inverters provides a powerful software tool which will enable Installers to properly analyse harmonic distortion of their power plant setup. “This powerful tool gives the Installer a flexible and powerful software capable of analysing various inverter types, differing phase loads and more. Further, the tool can readily conduct calculations to the new VDE 4105 standard,” said Torben Ringe, Manager International Technical Sales Support at Danfoss Solar Inverters.

Functionality of the software tool
The Photovoltaik Plant Harmonic Calculator enables a very easy and fast way to calculate the harmonics caused by a PV Plant at common point of coupling.

The software is able to consider the following parameters:

  - Different inverter types
  - Different phase load
  - Grid voltage and the linked standards
     o Low voltage 400V – VDE-AR-N 4105
     o Low voltage 400V – VDEW 2004
     o Medium voltage 10kV – BDEW 2011-06
     o Medium voltage 15kV – BDEW 2011-06
     o Medium voltage 20kV – BDEW 2011-06
     o Medium voltage 30kV – BDEW 2011-06
  - Short circuit apparent power in point of common coupling
  - Total connectable power in point of common coupling
  - Transformer apparent power

The Photovoltaik Plant Harmonic Calculator presents the calculation results in a printable or storable report including:

  - All plant harmonics up to the 50th
  - Info about installer, customer, plant specification and comments
  - Description of the calculation basis
  - Graphical visualization of the results and the corresponding limits
