Danfoss Solar Inverters prepares for further growth

02 September 2009
With the aim of preparing for further growth Danfoss Solar Inverters’ supply chain organisation will be integrated into Danfoss Drives. As a result, part of the production will be moved from Sønderborg to Graasten, Denmark. Also, the Danfoss Solar Inverters’ administration, sales and marketing and product development will move to Graasten. The move includes a total of about 120 employees.
The Danfoss Solar Inverters sales are growing, and the business unit anticipates growth rates of about 50 percent next year. Therefore, Danfoss Solar Inverters is hiring employees to meet the demands from customers. Over the last months about 20 additional production staff has been employed.

Danfoss Solar Inverters develops, produces and sells grid-connected inverters for residential and commercial solar cell applications and focuses on the fast growing European solar energy market.

In order to be able to meet customer demands the inverter production capacity is also to be extended and systems and processes are to be upgraded. Therefore the production of the new TripleLynx inverters is moved to Graasten which has the necessary production space and the necessary systems and processes in place. All systems and support functions of the Danfoss Solar Inverters’ supply chain will be fully integrated into the Danfoss Drives set-up. This also applies to the production of the UniLynx inverters, which will stay in Sønderborg.

The Danfoss Solar Inverters’ sales and marketing, product development and administration organisations are also moving to Graasten.

The preparation of the move will start now planning for the move to be completed in first quarter 2010. The employees affected have been informed.
