Scanenergi A/S acquires Danfoss Solutions A/S and initiates new expansive strategy within energy optimization in Denmark and abroad
The energy service company Scanenergi A/S in Ikast acquires Danfoss Solutions A/S that specializes in the implementation of energy savings projects in large companies and industrial plants. The acquisition will ensure Scanenergi’s continued growth as one of Europe’s leading companies within energy optimization.
“The market for energy optimization is developing rapidly. Especially in recent years, companies have begun to understand the benefits of reducing energy consumption and optimizing processes; both to reduce C02 emissions and because the financial benefits are considerable and can be realized within a short time. Therefore, we believe this is the right time to take over Danfoss Solutions, which is one of the most experienced and competent companies within industrial energy optimization,” says Michael Mikkelsen, CEO of Scanenergi A/S.
Optimization with considerable savings
Scanenergi is an ESCO company (Energy Service Company) that implements energy optimization and offers energy consulting to companies, in the public as well as the private sector. During the past three years, Scanenergi has implemented several hundred energy savings projects in medium-sized and large companies in Denmark resulting in savings spanning from several hundred thousand to several million Danish kroner. To this, Scanenergi can now add Danfoss Solutions’ customer portfolio which, besides Denmark, covers companies in Scandinavia, Germany, Poland, Portugal, USA, and Mexico, among others.
“By integrating the experiences and competencies of Danfoss Solutions, we will be able to offer even better solutions to existing customers in Denmark and abroad. We also want to make a targeted effort to establish new customer relationships in the rest of Scandinavia and Germany where energy optimization is really turning into big business,” says Michael Mikkelsen.
Cooperation on energy optimization
Danfoss Solutions A/S started as a spin-off from the Danfoss Group’s development activities relating to climate and energy solutions. Danfoss Solutions A/S has a total of 22 employees who will become part of the Scanenergi Group.
“We do not consider consulting to be part of our core business. Therefore, we are very pleased to have found a partner who is determined to further develop this business area and with whom we can cooperate on optimizing energy consumption in our own factories,” says Nis Storgaard, Executive Vice President and CDO at Danfoss.
As part of the Purchase Agreement, Scanenergi will further develop a number of energy optimization projects in Danfoss’ manufacturing plants in both Denmark and abroad. In addition, Scanenergi will carry on Danfoss Solutions’ other projects in both Denmark and abroad.
“The fact that the Danfoss Group chooses to cooperate with us on energy optimization in a number of their production units convinces us that the service we deliver is efficient and pays off, and we look forward to cooperating with the Danfoss Group,” says Michael Mikkelsen.
With the acquisition of Danfoss Solutions A/S, the number of Scanenergi’s employees increases to approx. 130 distributed among the Ikast headquarters and the departments in Copenhagen and Kolding.
