VLT® drives modernizes production cycle for animal feed rationing

25 July 2008
Animal feed rationing industry is important in the food cycle, because it directly influences the abundance, quality and prices for populations that consume beef, pork, and poultry products. The markets demand efficient machines in the processes of grinding, weighing, and transporting products. Recently Danfoss won an important OEM in the sector, Imazzi, which makes a range of machines for the animal feed industry.
Imazzi discovered that the VLT® logic programming is simple to use and has excellent results. It is able to control the dosing and function of machines, elevators, and transporters. Also, the VLT® AutomationDrive has impressive torque control for managing animal feed rationing.
Automation manager for Imazzi, Flávio Cesar Apolinário, said, "I was not satisfied with other brands, they lack resources, the performance and the limited automation don’t justify the price. In 2007 we made the first test with VLT® Drives and currently we only use Danfoss. It increases the value of our equipment for our clients, because of the automation package and the high level of technical and commercial service that Danfoss provides".

Winning the client
Davidson Tibúrcio sells Motion Control products in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. In Imazzi he identified electrical current deficiencies and evaluated in detail the improvements that could be made with a VLT® drive. He says, "Winning the account was possible because even though Imazzi is a smaller OEM, Danfoss provided answers quickly, paid a lot of attention to details and offered exactly what the client needed. They are satisfied with our customer service."
