Selling VLT® drives to the wind power industry

The Danfoss Group has decided to focus on the wind industry as this business expected to grow rapidly to 43 billion euro in 2011. It is in line with Danfoss’ strategies to enter into the renewable energy market and Danfoss has the components and competencies that can support this industry.
Moreover three of the main global wind turbine manufacturers have R&D facilities in Denmark. Danfoss’ new business area is organized under Danfoss Ventures. Danfoss Drives will contribute to this business by selling VLT® drives, building up knowledge of the wind power industry and its customers.
The markets in focus for 2008 are Denmark and Germany. Markets like India and China could follow in future years.
