New VLT® platform covers all needs

11 January 2008
With the release of high power drives up to 1.2 MW, a broad range of compact IP20 drives and a host of application dedicated features in business dedicated drives, Danfoss covers every need in the low voltage segments.
Danfoss has now completed the new modular technology platform and offers a complete program of frequency converters in all enclosure classes, with simple, advanced and application specific performances – in the full power range from 0,25 kW to 1.2 MW.

The latest members of this new generation of VLT® drives are the extremely compact IP20 drives optimised for panel mounting – and the modular high power drives, covering a segment where VLT® quality and user friendliness has not until now been offered.

With this extension of the VLT® product portfolio, it’s possible to benefit from the overall reliability, modularity and user friendliness of the new generation VLT® drives across the whole plant or production facility. This will save amounts of time used on learning, commissioning and operation of the drives. Knowing one is to know them all.

The new VLT® drives has more standard features – and even more optional features – than their predecessors, and despite this, they all are considerably smaller than the well known and successful VLT® 5000, VLT® 6000, and VLT® 8000 drives.

Adaptor kits
To facilitate change-over, Danfoss Drives provide adaptor kits so that connections to exchanged drives can be plugged directly to the new – and so that the mechanical mounting can take place with pre-drilled holes and threads. An example is the Profibus adaptor. Connected through this adaptor, surrounding equipment will see no difference when the drive is exchanged to one of the new generation.
