Danfoss VLT frequency drives in Budapest

Budapest is brim full of Danfoss VLT® drives

08 December 2009
In the centre of the Hungarian capital Budapest, you can hardly drive one kilometre without coming across frequency converters produced by Danfoss Drives. You´ll find them in various compounds, hospitals, shopping centres, theatres, museums and in many other places.

VLT® drives everywhere

First and foremost, Budapest has many HVAC applications which include VLT® HVAC drives that control ventilation plants in office blocks, hospitals, shopping centres, hotels, banks, theatres, museums, universities, bus stations, houses and swimming pools, each of which hides about 100-120 frequency converters.

However, it is not always above ground that you will find Danfoss Drives’ frequency converters. The ventilation system of the Budapest subway is also equipped with units from the VLT® 5000 series and a number of VLT® HVAC drives.

Within water applications you will find even more examples. At Budapest Water Company, frequency converters and soft starters help to pump water for the inhabitants’ daily consumption.

Budapest is an old metropolis with many historical sights including the city’s fountains. The most famous fountain is situated on Margaret Island in the heart of Budapest, in the middle of the River Danube. It is a musical fountain where the jets of water are synchronised with music and in order to control the pumps, Danfoss frequency converters contribute diligently. Close to this fountain you will also find a skating rink where VLT® drives work to keep the ice at the right temperature so that the skaters can slide effortlessly along.

Go to Budapest, the city that is virtually brim full of Danfoss VLT® drives.
