Center-driven web winders are very important components in web handling systems such as paper, plastic film, steel finishing, textile and converting machines. The main object of winder control is to maintain the required web tension in the winder (unwinder) process. The performance of the winder control directly affects the quality of the end products.
VLT® Center Winder MCO 352 is based on the hardware of VLT® Motion Controller MCO 305. The Center Winder is available for all power sizes and uses the same mounting kit as the Motion Controller. Since the Center Winder is a standard product with fixed functional properties, no additional application programming is required.
The Winder/Unwinder drive must run in closed speed loop and for best performance it is highly recommended to run the drive in Flux closed loop.
