VLT® products approved for the British Energy Technology List

19 December 2007
The whole of the new VLT® product platform has been approved for inclusion on the British "Energy Technology List" . Both the VLT® Frequency Converter Motor (FCM) and the VLT® Decentral Frequency Converter (FCD) have been reclassified.
With this approval, the British government recognises VLT® drives as representing energy saving "green" technology and that the products qualify for the Enhanced Capital Allowance tax benefit and contribute to offsetting the Climate Change Levy.

According to British legislation, companies can for Corporation Tax purposes, write off the capital cost of products on the Energy Technology List in their first year instead of over seven years as for other capital purchases. This represents a substantial saving on the purchase price.

The British approval officially places Danfoss VLT drives in the energy efficiency and "Clean Tech" sector. This allows Danfoss to leverage the marketing logo of the ECA scheme.
