VLT® AQUA  Power Range Now Completed Together With New Software

17 December 2007
The last planned release for VLT® AQUA product program 2007 was the extension of the power range through 1,2MW.

The plan became reality Dec. the 11th. With the new release the power range has been completed and the large high power drives has already been quoted in several projects all over the world.

At the same time a new software was released for VLT® AQUA Drive including support of three new options as well as a few new features.
The first of the new supported options is the temperature sensor input option including a battery back up for the real time clock. The second new option is Ethernet IP, which increase the communication options for water applications in general. The last but not less important is the advanced cascade option which supports up to 8 pumps in standard cascade mode or as master/follower. The option makes the installation for systems with alternating lead pump very easy, since the new option provide the option of two drive relays per pump.

Further to the new options which are now supported by VLT® AQUA drive, the new software includes auto tuning of the closed loop controllers, which in an easy way replace the well known “rule of thumps” when setting up a controller. The new auto tuning feature, ensure a perfect performance of the closed loop controller.

One more exciting new auto tuning feature has been included in the software. With the new software the cascade controller can auto tune the most efficient point of staging or de-staging a fixed speed pump. This feature will reduce the risk of over or under shoot in the pressure when a pump is staged or de-staged.
