Sven Ruder, 51, has both Danish and Brazilian citizenship. He joined Danfoss in 1990 when he took charge of Danfoss’ activities in the South American region. In 2001, after a number of successful years in South America, he took on the responsibility for Danfoss Motion Controls which, under his management, experienced remarkable growth and increased profits.
“Sven has a dynamic personality that inspires commitment, and a global vision. He has created a strong team around him at Danfoss Motion Controls and there is no doubt that he will also be a key asset at Sauer-Danfoss. We wish Sven good luck in his new job and thank him warmly for his major efforts for Danfoss,” says Niels B. Christiansen, CEO for Danfoss A/S.
Earlier this year, in July, Sven Ruder became a board member at Sauer-Danfoss, and will succeed Dave Anderson as President and CEO at the turn of the year. After six years as head of the company, Dave Anderson ends his 25-year career at Sauer-Danfoss.
Currently, Danfoss A/S owns 55.4% of Sauer-Danfoss Inc. which is listed at the New York stock exchange. The company is included in the Danfoss accounts as a subsidiary. Danfoss has an option to acquire an additional 20.1% of the share capital in Sauer-Danfoss over the next three years.
Significant leader takes over Motion Controls
One of the most successful business leaders in Danfoss has been appointed to replace Sven Ruder as the head of the Danfoss Motion Controls Division and the business unit Danfoss Drives. Troels H. Petersen is 44 years old and joined Danfoss in 1989. In 2002 he took over the responsibility for Danfoss District Heating – a business unit under Danfoss Heating Division. During Troels H. Petersen’s leadership, Danfoss District Heating has undergone positive development and in almost five years, he has managed to quadruple its net sales on the basis of a clear vision with regard to supplementing the original component business with new total heat transfer solutions.
“In Troels H. Petersen, Danfoss Motion Controls will have a significant and competent leader who dares to lead the way and who is also a competent team player. With his direct manner and his eye for new opportunities and improvements, he represents the best of qualities in Danfoss and with him as leader, we expect the division to further develop its growth strategy and retain the progress over the coming years,” says Niels B. Christiansen.
Troels H. Petersen’s successor at Danfoss District Heating will be appointed during the coming months.
