Danfoss acquires PowerLynx

15 March 2007
As of March 14, 2007 Danfoss has acquired PowerLynx A/S, a company based in Sønderborg, Denmark that designs and sells advanced grid-connected inverters for solar energy-applications, mainly in Europe. The company was established in 2002 as a spin-off from the Danfoss venture activities. Today it has 67 employees working in sales and marketing, operations and product development.
“The acquisition is in line with Danfoss’ strategies to capture the growing markets for renewable energy solutions. The combination of PowerLynx’ know-how and experience in the solar energy market and Danfoss’ scale and depth within power electronics make this a very compelling story,” says Niels B. Christiansen, Danfoss Vice CEO and COO.

PowerLynx will become an independent business unit within the Danfoss Motion Controls Division. Henrik Raunkjær, President of PowerLynx, will report to Sven Ruder, President of Danfoss Motion Controls Division.
