Peter M. Clausen, aged 59, joined High Pressure Systems in 1992 and has headed the business area since 1999. Before that he was in charge of ‘Research & Applications’ in Danfoss Burner Components.
High Pressure Systems began as a technology project that targeted the replacement of oil hydraulics with water hydraulics. With Peter M. Clausen heading the project, the area now covers several interesting markets where the technology is unique.
A clear strategy focusing on business segments has made High Pressure Systems a market leader in segments with major growth potential. This was realised due to, among other things, company acquisitions. For example, the takeover of Sea Recovery has put Danfoss in a leading position in the market for small systems that desalt seawater before it is turned into tap water. And the purpose of the acquisition of the cooperation partner, the fire division Semco Maritim, was to replace land-based sprinkler systems with High Pressure Watermist. In addition, a number of other business segments are developing strongly.
High Pressure Systems turned into an attractive business at the beginning of 1999, with net sales of 500,000 million DKK, and it is expected to show profit in 2009.
“I would like to thank Peter M. Clausen warmly for his commitment and his major contribution over the past years heading an area which, at first, was entirely new but exciting territory for Danfoss,” says Niels B. Christiansen, Danfoss’ President and CEO.
In the future, Peter M. Clausen intends to dedicate his time to chairing the Bitten and Mads Clausen Foundation, the Fabrikant Mads Clausen Foundation, the Danfoss Training Foundation, Sønderborg Havneselskab, the Project Zero Foundation and, as a board member in Danfoss A/S, Danfoss Universe and the Mads Clausen Institute, among others.
Palle Kruse, aged 61, has headed the Danfoss Group & People & Organisation since 2005. Before this, he was the President of Danfoss Industrial Refrigeration and, prior to that, he was the plant manager of RA’s valve factory in Nordborg.
Over the past few years, Danfoss’ HR activities have been professionalised across boundaries and there has been a sharp focus on the setting-up of competencies and the establishment of shared procedures at a global level. This took place to ensure that HR is a core competence that supports the development of Danfoss’ business.
In his new role as Senior Vice President of Danfoss High Pressure Systems, his primary responsibility will be to exploit the very large development potential of the business area and increase the growth rates of the business.
