Danfoss receives excellence award; VP Purushothaman awarded the Udyog Rattan Award

20 November 2007
Danfoss, a leader in mechanical and electronic components, has just enjoyed a double success. Not only was the company bestowed with the Excellence Award by the Institute of Economic Studies, New Delhi, but its Vice President Ravichandran Purushothaman was honoured with the Udyog Rattan Award, joining the ranks of other leading Indian industrialists who have received this honour.
The awards were presented at a function in Delhi earlier this month in the presence of Mr. Bhandare, Honourable Governor of Orissa, Dr Bishma Narain Singh, former Governor of TN and Eastern states, and Mr. GVG Krishnamurthy, former chief election commissioner of India.

“I am honoured to receive this award, which is a tribute to all our employees. Danfoss is where it is today not just because of the strengths of its products and services, but also because of its adherence to a set of core values which transcends its employees across the globe,” said Ravichandran Purushothaman. “Our core values are built around trust, safety and reliability, a passion for technology, a respect for local cultures and a commitment to environmental and social responsibility.” Ravichandran Purushothaman is an electronics engineer with over 20 years of experience across global markets.

The Udyog Rattan Award and the Award for Excellence are conferred by the Institute of Economic Studies every year. The institute closely monitors various facets of the economy and the individual contributions made by various companies and business leaders; then a panel of eminent people from the institute and across the country form the jury in order to select the winners. The patrons of the institute include several leaders in economic studies, politics and business. Past recipients of these prestigious awards have included leading figures in Indian industry.
