The Qingdao 200 kWp HCPV project, located in the most modern city in Shandong Province, is the largest commercial HCPV plant in China to date; beginning feed-in to the regional grid in January 2011. The facility, equipped with 20 TLX 12.5 kW inverters and 250 kW capacity, was constructed by module provider Suntrix and was recently awarded one of the “Top Ten Chinese PV applications” due in large part to system efficiency. As severe weather challenges caused by powerful winds and irradiation were a top concern, site developers demanded installation of inverters which could best maximise MPPT efficiency.
