Danfoss Solar Inverters increases production capacity to 1 GW

09 September 2009
The demand for Danfoss’ grid-connected solar inverter range has increased significantly in 2009. Now Danfoss prepares for further growth in 2010 by increasing production capacity to 1 GW.
"Despite the financial crisis’ general effect on the European photovoltaic market this year we have seen very high sales growth, which will continue the rest of the year", says President Henrik Raunkjær, Danfoss Solar Inverters,
"The 3-phase TripleLynx inverter in the 10-15 kW range has become a huge success in both small and large installations, and the demand for the UniLynx range for residential applications has also exceeded our expectations", he explains.

The expansion of the inverter production capacity will be located at Danfoss’ production facilities in Graasten, Denmark – close to the German border and 15 km from the current premises in Sonderborg – and will be finalised during the 1st quarter of 2010. At the same time product development, sales, marketing and administration will move to Danfoss’ facilities in Graasten to make room for the expansion of the inverter business.

"We aim to be among the leading inverter suppliers in the photovoltaic industry – the 2010 production capacity increase is an important step in our expansion plans", says Henrik Raunkjær.
