ShowerPower® - new cooling concept

To avoid temperature gradients, the basic idea is to cool perpendicularly to the surface to be cooled, hence the name ShowerPower®.

But in contrast to existing spraying or jet impingement systems, ShowerPower® gets rid of the coolant before it creates large temperature gradients.

Cost is reduced as standard flat baseplate modules can be cooled. Plus cooling is uniform or it can even be tailored across the baseplate.

ShowerPower® enables you to:

  • Achieve uniform cooling of large flat baseplate power modules and system modules
  • Use direct cooling with standard power modules
  • Eliminate temperature gradients
  • Avoid TIM-related pump-out and dry-out effects
  • Achieve very low differential pressure drop
  • Gain a high degree of design freedom (enabling 3D designs) due to its compactness and low weight
