Innovative liquid injection offers new possibilities within the heating market

The new Performer® PSH heating optimized R410A scroll compressor has four different models available, covering a heating capacity range from 38 to 77 kW at -7˚C, 50˚C rating point. Equipment manufacturers will benefit from the liquid injection that delivers a wider temperature envelope and the operating control system that ensures a high reliability.
Extended operating envelope
In comparison to gas or oil furnaces for space heating and Hot Sanitary Water (HSW) production, a heat pump system offers very large energy savings up to 50%. But until now, most heat pumps were limited in operating temperatures.
The unique liquid injection solution extends the compressor envelope to extreme operating conditions and reduces the applied costs on the system. Heat pump and air conditioning manufacturers will be able to use the compressor with very high condensing temperature up to 65°C and at the same time with low evaporating temperature down to -30°C. The liquid injection solution is completely integrated in the compressor and requires only an additional ¼ inch pipe connection for the liquid coming out of the condenser. The compressor is easily integrated in a system and there is no need for any additional components. Thanks to the liquid injection, the Performer® PSH will open new markets like commercial heat pumps or air conditioning applications for extreme operating temperatures.

Innovation leads to benefits: 30% higher reliability
The Performer® PSH has a new built in operating control system (OCS) which pilots the liquid injection and protects the compressor by keeping it within operating limits. The system also stores operating data and events for improved serviceability. The OCS reduces downtime and cuts system warranty costs.

Lower sound levels
The Performer® PSH complies with the market requirements and legislation when it comes to sound levels. The compressor generates by average 3 dB(A) less than equivalent products. All PSH compressors are standard equipped with a patented surface sump heater with integrated insulation which largely contributes to the sound reduction.
