CO2 Secondary Cooling Calculation Tool

How much can you save?

CO2 calculator helps you to evaluate how much you can save by choosing CO2 as a secondary refrigerant for your installation instead of a traditional brine. This is a rough guide based on a number of assumptions.
Air Temperature °C (-30 to 0 °C)
Cooling capacity kW (50 to 5000 kW)
Electricity cost Euro/kW*h (0.01 to 2.00 Euro)
For detailed calculations and more information please contact Danfoss at cotoo@danfoss.com

Result: Total Energy Savings

Applying CO2 as a secondary refrigerant is not only good for the environment, but profitable as well, especially considering the fact that energy prices increase constantly. The calculation is done based on your electricity prices and estimated energy savings

Result: CO2 savings

CO2 used as a secondary refrigerant in your system reduces CO2 emissions to the atmosphere. Those reductions in CO2 emissions can easily be converted into a number of driven kilometers. In the calculation example a car emits around 129 g CO2 /km. Another way of showing the reduction in CO2 emission is to make visible how many trees the reduction represents.

Danfoss Pumped CO2 Solution

Significant Savings with the Danfoss Pumped CO2 Solution

Research has shown that an average installation of a refrigeration system using CO2 as a fluid is no more expensive than a system installed using a water-based brine/glycol.
