Major Mobile Hydraulic customers switch to MBS 1350

The dual output MBS 1350 is generating a great deal of interest in the mobile hydraulic sector. With its electronic logic switch function and transmitter output, the MBS 1350 looks set to end leakage and unreliability.

Quality, accuracy and performance

In the mobile hydraulic industry, manufacturers are moving away from mechanical switches for their transmission and leg stability systems in favour of electronic switches. The change in preference is due to problems with existing cartridge-type mechanical switches, such as leakage, inaccuracy and unreliable electronic contactors.

In autumn 2007, Danfoss’ launched the MBS 1350, a compact OEM pressure transmitter. Designed for severe industrial OEM applications such as building site and agricultural equipment, the MBS 1350 features an integrated pulse snubber, which provides a high degree of protection against cavitations and liquid hammer. And the carefully crafted design means excellent vibration stability, exceptional robustness and a high degree of EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) protection. The MBS 1350 not only meets the most stringent industrial requirements, but with its quality, accuracy and performance, it is also proving a great motivator to go electric.

The MBS 1350 offers a range of technical benefits:

  • Operates in ratiometric (5V supply) or absolute voltage (12 and 24V supply) systems
  • Can be a 0-5V or 0-Vsupply, with pressure rising or falling
  • Current draw options available include 2 mA or 150 mA
  • Highly accurate and stable switch set point.
  • Significant overpressure stability
  • Compact size with few leak paths (all wetted parts are stainless steel and welded together)

The MBS 1350 production facility in Durham, UK, is open for Supplier Quality Assurance audits by customer’s manufacturing and quality engineers.
