Dust suppression with high-pressure water mist
Spraying high-pressure water mist into the air will knock down the fine airborne dust particles, and the dust will fall to the ground. The advantage of spraying water mist out at high pressure is that the droplet sizes get very small, and the water mist will therefore evaporate in the air before it hits the ground and prevent puddles.
Dust suppression with water mist can significantly improve the working conditions for people working in areas with a lot of fine dust particles in the air. Another benefit according to experts is the possibility of reducing the risk of dust explosion by up to 90% by keeping the humidity level above 50% in dusty areas. Finally, high-pressure water mist also helps reducing smells in case of odours in the air.
Typical dust suppression applications are in saw mills, garbage dumps, paper and pulp industry and quarries.
