VLT® drives reduce costs in British water applications

15 July 2009
KGN Pillinger, a leading manufacturer of water boosting and pressurisation sets and waste water packaged pumping stations, has placed with Danfoss Drives, an order for four 11 kW VLT® AQUA drives, with extended cascade controllers.

More efficient water distribution The engineers of KGN Pillinger, who had used a competitor’s product for many years, were convinced that the VLT® AQUA Drives would control water distribution more efficiently. It also showed that Danfoss could reduce KGN Pillinger’s system costs by reducing commissioning time.

A live demonstration finally showed the ease of commissioning and better system stability.

Danfoss Drives will now arrange additional training sessions for KGN’s engineers.

More businesses
The success of this business has resulted in Danfoss Drives being introduced to KGN Pillinger’s approved panel builder, Gemini Control Systems, who have now become a Danfoss Drives water system partner and placed their first orders for 18.5 kW VLT® AQUA drives at the beginning of June.

Thames Water, which is the largest water company in the UK, has now also placed orders with KGN Pillinger for similar systems incorporating Danfoss VLT® AQUA drives.
