PROFINET option for the VLT® AutomationDrive

Danfoss Drives has released the first PROFINET option for the VLT® AutomationDrive.
The PROFINET option expands the VLT® AutomationDrive’s ability to communicate on Ethernet, so that now we can offer support for Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP and PROFINET.

Initially only the VLT AutomationDrive FC302 will support the PROFINET option.
The first version will have following functionality:

• Support for PPO type 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8
• Update speed down to 2 msec. on cyclic data
• MCT10 support via Ethernet
• DCP support, for easy setup of communication parameter via PLC’s configuration tool (e.g. Siemens Step 7)
• Onboard web-page with drive status
• No acyclic read/write from the master PLC
• No support for DP-V1 or PCV access to parameters
• English literature

The second version is planned for late November 2009, and will ads the following functionalities:

• Support from FC301
• Support for VLT® Motion Control Tool MCO305
• Acyclic access via DP-V1
• Diagnosis and alarm info via PROFINET
• Support of English, German, French, Italian in the GSD file
