Danfoss Cooperates with Australian Living Lab

Trainee engineers get introduced to Danfoss at an early stage and in a real life scenario.

The Western Sydney Green Skills Hub is a Living Laboratory designed to model sustainable practices. The aim is to provide innovative training in the subject areas of green electrical engineering, plumbing, refrigeration and information technology.

The facility includes a community center which will provide opportunities for the public to view, interact with and monitor the impact of green technologies.
The refrigeration section consists of transcritical and subcritical CO2 packs. Along with display cases, cold rooms and a CO2 icemaker. The plant also consists of an ammonia system which is used to cool the subcritical CO2 pack. The ammonia system has a number of industrial refrigeration components fitted to it such as: ICF, ICS, SVA and AKS transmitters.

“Our investment is aimed at introducing Australia's Engineers to Danfoss and its complete product portfolio on natural refrigerants as well as awareness to climate and energy. One of the benefits of our investment is free use of the facility for Danfoss. It is a world class facility to train our staff and customers in a real life scenario”, says Inderpal Saund.

The Gren Skills Hub supports the new and emerging green skills industry and is also a demonstration of Western Sydney Institute's commitment to leading the way in environmental sustainability and to reducing its environmental impact. Western Sydney Institute provides more than 1,000 courses at local colleges throughout Western Sydney and by distance education.
