2.2 Million Danish Kroner Donated in October
At its meeting in early October the foundation donated 2.2 mill. DKK to various charitable purposes in Denmark and abroad.
1.8 mill. DKK went to projects in the vicinity of Danfoss. Here are some examples:
Ungdommens Vel, Kolding - bicycles for a drop-in centre for children and young people in a socially deprived area
Hjernesagen Silkeborg - activities for people suffering from aphasia and apoplexy
Soenderborg Sports Club for the Disabled - sports equipment
Association for the elderly, North Als - equipment for it lessons for senior citizens
Churches' Integration Team, Soenderborg - support for refugee families
Soenderborg Yacht Club - hoist for disabled yachtsmen
Citizens Association for Soegaard and its Environs - outdoor fitness equipment
Als Stone Reef - creation of an artificial reef in Flensburg Bay
The Association for Nydam Reseach - building of a boathouse for the replica of the Nydam Boat
Song Center of South Jutland - electric piano
Rinkenaes Voluntary Fire Brigade's Orchestra - tuba
Flensburg Rowing Club, Germany - kayaks
Hand in Hand fuer den Norden, Flensburg, Germany - support for socially disadvantaged families in the northern part of Flensburg
The biggest donation - 400,000 DKK - went to a local school near Danfoss' company in Monterrey, Mexico. The school is situated in an area of the city where drug related crime is an increasing problem, and to protect its students the school wants to build a new secure fence around the school. The foundation's board decided to grant the full amount necessary. The school has been 'adopted' by the local Danfoss company, which supports it in various ways.
The foundation has donated a total of 7.2 mill. DKK so far this year. The number of recipients total 324, and amounts donated range from 2,000 DKK to 500,000 DKK.
The next board meeting will be held on 10 December. Applications to be considered at this meeting must be received by the foundation no later than 19 November.
