Research and education

Within research, support is typically given to projects concerned with medicine, science and technology. In 2006, support was given to several medical research projects concerned with, among other things, spinal disorders, sclerosis and eczema. In the field of science and technology, the Foundation supported, among others, projects at the Universities of Aarhus and Aalborg and the Technical University of Denmark.

Within education, the Foundation supported various projects concerned with science and technology. The largest single donation - DKK 4.3 million - was given to the Mads Clausen Institute at the University of Southern Denmark in Sønderborg. The institute is located in the newly built Alsion complex. The donation was for new equipment for the institute's clean room laboratory. The equipment is capable of etching hard surfaces by means of ions, allowing surface structure to be determined, and will be an invaluable asset in the institute's teaching and research activities within nanotechnology and mechatronics.
