Research and education

Within research, support is typically given to projects concerned with the natural sciences and technology. With the exception of a few specific projects, medical research is generally not supported.

Within education, the Foundation supports, among others, various projects designed to stimulate the interest of children and young people in science and technology.

In 2011, the Foundation has supported a number of research projects at the University of Southern Denmark, e.g. at the Mads Clausen Institute in Soenderborg. Two donations of DKK 100,000 each went to the research in breast cancer. Young Researchers received a donation of DKK 600,000 for national competitions over the next three years where students up till the age of 21 present projects within natural sciences.

Within education, the largest donation - DKK 150,000 - went to Soenderborg International School. The school was established in 2007 as a department of the Private School of Als, with the support of the Fabrikant Mads Clausen Foundation. In 2011, the school became independent and now has its own management and teaching staff.
