Hospitals, institutions and health
In this category, the Foundation supports a wide range of relief organisations, institutions for the disabled, patient associations and care centres for children and the elderly. In addition, several local hospitals receive support for the purchase of diagnostic and treatment equipment.
A number of local institutions and associations received donations in connection with the foundation's 50th anniversary. The largest donation went to Sonderborg Hospital, its eye department receiving DKK 0,5 million for a camera which is used to photograph the retina.
Two children's institutions received DKK 250,000 each. One was the kindergarten Klovermarken in Sonderborg. The donation was for a motor function room and an outdoor workshop. The other donation was for a state-of-the-art climbing frame at the Julemarkehjem Fjordmark at Kollund, an institution working with children with social and weight problems.
Another DKK 250,000 went to Skubberne, Northern Als, an association of volunteers who take the elderly from local nursing homes on weekly tours. The donation was for the purchase of wheelchairs with electric motors.
Sonderborg Women's Crisis Centre received DKK 250,000 for the renovation of the centre's bathrooms.
