Art and culture

In 2006, the Foundation again supported numerous projects within art and culture, primarily in the vicinity of Danfoss companies. Recipients include local historic societies, choirs and orchestras, museums and artist groups.

In the field of music, the Foundation gave large donations to the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra, the Danfoss Orchestra and Tønder Festival.

The donation to Tønder Festival was to fund the acquisition of acoustic mats for the large marquees used at the festival. The Danfoss Orchestra, which performs at many events within the company and in the community at large, received a large donation for the musical development of its members. The largest donation was given to South Jutland Symphony Orchestra in support of concerts with star soloists.

The Fabrikant Mads Clausen Foundation owns Havnbjerg Mill on North Als. The mill is of Dutch design and was built in 1835. Following two major restorations over the years, the mill is now a delightful tourist attraction. The Foundation covers all operating and maintenance expenses for the mill.
