Art and culture

The Foundation supports numerous projects within art and culture, primarily in the vicinity of Danfoss companies. Recipients include local historical societies, choirs and orchestras, museums and artist groups.

A large donation was given to the maintenance of Havnbjerg Mill, an old mill near Nordborg. The mill is owned and run by the Foundation, and 2010 was characterised by ongoing repair of the mill's cap and yawing mechanism, work which was completed during the summer.

In connection with the Foundation's 50th anniversary, donations were given to three local projects. Sct. Marie Parish in Sonderborg received DKK 250,000 for the reopening of windows in the parish church. The windows will be equipped with glass art designed by Danish artist Per Kirkeby. Nordborg Cinema, which is run by volunteers, received DKK 750,000 for the digitisation of the cinema. The largest donation in this category - DKK 2,750,000 - went to Fonden Mølleparken for the renovation and modernisation of the outdoor concert arena in a park in Sonderborg.
