Art and culture

The Foundation supports numerous projects within art and culture, primarily in the vicinity of Danfoss companies. Recipients include local historical societies, choirs and orchestras, museums and artist groups.

A large donation is given to the maintenance of Havnbjerg Mill, an old windmill near Nordborg. The mill is owned and run by the Foundation.

Most donations in this category went to projects within music, choirs and orchestras. The largest donation - DKK 1.5 million - went to the Symphony Orchestra of Southern Jutland for concerts with soloists in the next three seasons.

In 2014, several projects will mark the Battle at Dybboel Banke 150 years ago. The foundation made donations for two such projects in 2011. Historical Centre Dybboel Banke received a donation for a music video with the Danish songwriter Lars Lilholt and his song 'Denmark's Killing Fields'. The Museum at Soenderborg Castle received a donation for a painting with a scene from the battle in 1864 to be painted by the Danist artist Thomas Kluge.
