Abroad
In 2008, the Foundation donated more than DKK 0.6 million to projects outside Denmark. Most was given to humanitarian aid in response to natural disasters.
In China, the foundation supported a staff collection in aid of the victims of the violent earthquake which struck the south-western part of the country in May, causing many deaths and making even more people homeless.
Similarly, the foundation supported relief work in Burma/Myanmar, where a large part of the population suffered from the devastation of Cyclone Nargis. UNICEF thus received support for aid in the immediate aftermath of the disaster and Danish Red Cross also received support for its reconstruction efforts in the area.
Besides funding for specific projects abroad, the foundation also donates substantial amounts each year to various humanitarian organisations' relief programmes around the world. In 2008, such donations amounted to more than DKK 150,000.
