Annual Report  -  2010

The Fabrikant Mads Clausen Foundation held a reception at Danfoss Nordborg in December to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The foundation marked the anniversary by handing out donations for 10 million Danish Kroner.
Accounts
In 2010, net capital income amounted to DKK 3.0 million. In addition, the Foundation received DKK 10 million from the Bitten and Mads Clausen Foundation and other contributions of DKK 0.1 million. Total income thus amounted to DKK 13.1 million.

Administrative expenses amounted to DKK 1.5 million. After deducting losses on bonds and shares, the result before donations was DKK 11.5 million.

Donations
In 2010, the Foundation donated a total of DKK 19.9 million for charitable purposes in Denmark and abroad. Hereof DKK 10 million were donated to mark the foundation's 50th anniversary. The donations - starting at DKK 250,000 - were given to local projects within education, health, culture and sports. Several institutions for children and young people were among the recipients, two of them outside Denmark.

Applications
Five Board meetings were held in 2010, at which applications of relevance to the Foundation –602 altogether - were considered. The Board approved 412 of these, donating amounts ranging from DKK 1,000 to DKK 2.75 million.

In addition to the applications considered by the Board, a number of applications were rejected administratively as being outside the scope of the Foundation. A total of 606 applications were rejected in this way. Another application was withdrawn.

The total number of applications received and considered by the Foundation in 2010 was thus 1,212.
