In 2011, the Danfoss Foundation for Education awarded 88 scholarships worth a total of DKK 752,530.
The foundation received 155 applications for standard scholarships. 85 of the applications were accepted and most were awarded DKK 5,000-6,000. 42 of the scholarships were awarded to students studying abroad.
70 applications were turned down for the following reasons:
47 had insufficient or no relationship to Danfoss
11 were outside the scope of the Foundation
4 had received the maximum number of scholarships
8 had applied prematurely
Again in 2011, the Foundation awarded an apprentice scholarship to a student who had completed his apprenticeship at Danfoss. The scholarship was for DKK 75,000 and will be paid over three years.
The Foundation also donated an amount to be used for scholarships to foreign students attending the Mads Clausen Institute at the University of Southern Denmark in Sonderborg. The scholarship was for DKK 188,530, covering living expenses.
