Jørgen M. Clausen is the oldest son of Danfoss founder Mads Clausen. He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from Denmark's Engineering Academy and also holds a Masters of Business Administration with a Finance-major from the University of Wisconsin, USA.
For a few years Jørgen M. Clausen was employed at Grundfos' subsidiary in Germany. He then ran his own business in Copenhagen. In 1980 he was employed at Danfoss as Manager of Corporate Technology and Research.
In 1990 Jørgen M. Clausen was appointed to Danfoss' Executive Committee and in 1991 became President of the Mobile Hydraulics Division.
He became CEO in April 1996.
