Danfoss complies with the ILO’s conventions
Danfoss complies with the ILO’s conventions, stipulating that juveniles between the ages of 15 and 18 can be employed on the following terms:
- They must be above the local minimum age for employment
- They must be above the local compulsory school age
- They must not be involved in hazardous work
- They must not work at night
- They must have more breaks than employees above the age of 18
In special circumstances, children aged 14 can be employed if the local conditions mean that the child – through the work – is offered the best possible protection and development, which in certain areas of the world can be the case.
Monitoring child labour
Since 2003, Danfoss has monitored whether the group’s companies have any form of child labour. In 2009 a total of 78 young people between 15 and 17 years old were employed by Danfoss typically in positions related to training. 37 of them were employed in production, 11 in administration and 30 in other functions.
