Heat recovery at Danfoss Drives in Gråsten

Danfoss Drives in Gråsten, Denmark, is constructing a new warehouse and logistics centre of 12,000m², where consideration for the environment was included in the planning at an early stage.
The ventilation system is set to transfer more than 73,000m³ of air through the building every hour so. Consequently, it was decided to install a highly efficient heat recovery system. Danfoss Drives has opted for a highly efficient recovery system which reuses 90% of the energy stored in the exhaust air. Meanwhile, the system cools the building by spraying vaporised water into the injection air. On the vaporisation of the water, heat is extracted from the air and the temperature is lowered with the least possible consumption of energy. This kind of cooling only uses 12-16% of the energy of traditional compressor cooling.

Corporate Citizenship

Danfoss’ overall goal within Corporate Citizenship is "keeping our own house in order".
This applies to employees, so that they have an attractive workplace and a healthy work-ing environment. It applies to the environment, where Danfoss products contribute to energy savings, and where the environmental impact of their production is constantly being reduced.
And it applies, in a broad sense, to social and ethical responsibility.
Efforts are continually being intensified, because when employee satisfaction is high, consumption of resources is as low as possible, and the company’s ethics and reputation are good, the result is a positive effect on the accounting bottom line.
