Danfoss’ internal work with climate
The target figures are absolute and are measured relative to the emission in 2007. The basis for the climate strategy (baseline) is the sum of CO2 emissions caused by Danfoss’ production of electricity and heat as well as emissions caused by energy purchased (electricity and district heating) as well as emissions caused by business trips and the transport of products to the customer.
In its baseline of the climate strategy, Danfoss did not include emissions in the supply chain (e.g. extraction of raw materials, production at suppliers and transport of raw materials) and the emission of greenhouse gases due use of products is not included in the calculations.
These emissions are, however, documented to a certain extent using the cases in the Corporate Citizenship Report.
In 2007, 250,000 tons of CO2 were emitted and by 2025, this is set to be reduced to less than 190,000 tons, independent of the fact that Danfoss’ activities are expected to increase considerably in the period until 2025.
For our efforts to reduce the CO2 emissions to bear fruit, it is necessary for us to focus on the reduction of emissions caused by acquired energy, own production of energy and the transport of products and employees.
