Climate

Danfoss has a Climate Strategy based on the 3×25 objective, with which Danfoss aims to reduce the absolute emission of CO2 by 25% and increase the share of renewable energy by 25% before 2025.

Danfoss is a ZEROcompany. We lead the way to make the whole Sonderborg area CO2 neutral in 2029.
We have committed ourselves to make the most of the area’s potential when it comes to Bright Green Business – and to develop new intelligent climate solutions. Find out more about Project Zero and ZEROcompany at www.projectzero.dk.

Danfoss’ internal work with climate

The target figures are absolute and are measured relative to the emission in 2007. The basis for the climate strategy (baseline) is the sum of CO2 emissions caused by Danfoss’ production of electricity and heat as well as emissions caused by energy purchased (electricity and district heating) as well as emissions caused by business trips and the transport of products to the customer.

In its baseline of the climate strategy, Danfoss did not include emissions in the supply chain (e.g. extraction of raw materials, production at suppliers and transport of raw materials) and the emission of greenhouse gases due use of products is not included in the calculations.

These emissions are, however, documented to a certain extent using the cases in the Corporate Citizenship Report.

In 2007, 250,000 tons of CO2 were emitted and by 2025, this is set to be reduced to less than 190,000 tons, independent of the fact that Danfoss’ activities are expected to increase considerably in the period until 2025.

For our efforts to reduce the CO2 emissions to bear fruit, it is necessary for us to focus on the reduction of emissions caused by acquired energy, own production of energy and the transport of products and employees.

Corporate Citizenship

Danfoss’ overall goal within Corporate Citizenship is "keeping our own house in order".
This applies to employees, so that they have an attractive workplace and a healthy working environment. It applies to the environment, where Danfoss products contribute to energy savings, and where the environmental impact of their production is constantly being reduced.
And it applies, in a broad sense, to social and ethical responsibility.
Efforts are continually being intensified, because when employee satisfaction is high, consumption of resources is as low as possible, and the company’s ethics and reputation are good, the result is a positive effect on the accounting bottom line.
