The employees at the business unit’s factories in Slovenia, Slovakia and Germany were not familiar enough with the strategy and objectives of the business. Therefore, communication and co-operation between the factories had become particularly challenging. Seen in this light, the top-level management initiated a development process which included all of the managers at Danfoss Household Compressors.
The process is set to result in a shared foundation for leadership, based on managerial tools, improved co-operation, and improved communicative skills and day-to-day problem-solving. In order to provide all of the business unit’s managers with a shared basis for the ongoing development process, a managerial development programme was completed in 2007 for 24 newly appointed managers. The process has continued into 2008, involving all managers in a development programme which deals with how to communicate the company’s targets throughout the organisation.
